The traveler & the author

Meet the Dot

A small, smooth, featureless traveler who can cross worlds and does not know why.

The reflective Dot

No face. No hands. No luggage.

The Dot is just the Dot.

The Dot floats. It can measure distance precisely. It can recognize symbols. It can cross from one world to another. It has no idea why any of those things are true.

It is curious, literal, patient, emotionally sincere, and accidentally funny. When somebody says, “That is simply how the world works,” the Dot is usually already measuring something.

It can move

The Dot floats and travels without arms, legs, wings, or visible machinery.

It can cross

Sometimes the Dot arrives in a new world. The mechanism remains part of the mystery.

It asks

The Dot does not arrive to save worlds. It arrives wanting to understand what is true.
